Fernando Vachon series

Series consists of materials produced or collected by Fernando Vachon for the purposes of teaching Aircraft Maintenance at PVI and developing other aviation-related programs and events associated with PVI and BCIT. Series is organized into four subseries: Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council core-curriculum materials for Aircraft Structural Repair Technician Program, Vachon collected reference materials, PVI curriculum development materials, and Vachon correspondence, 1971-1977.

BCIT Office of the President series

The BCIT Office of the President series consists of records made and received in the course of carrying out the functions of the office from 1962 to the present. The activities documented include policy and procedures development; participation in the President’s Executive Council (PEC) which is composed of senior managers who make decisions on the institute’s operations, and other bodies, including the Board of Governors, liaison with internal and external bodies such as the various faculties, the Faculty and Staff Association, non-government and non-educational organizations such as companies, non-profit societies, industry groups, standards associations, etc, and the provincial and federal governments; budget preparation; the regulation of instruction, including appointments and salaries; correspondence with various individuals and institutions regarding academic matters; the development of new programs and departments; public engagements; and the solicitation and the distribution of grants, and scholarships. The types of documents include meeting agenda and minutes, brochures, correspondence, memorandum, publications, and reports.

BCIT Facilites and Campus Development series

Series includes proposals for architectural and structural work, heating and ventilation, plumbing and electrical work; campus master plans, campus assessments, and site studies. As well as specifications for electrical, architectural and structural work.

BCIT Alumni Association photographs

Series consists of photographs taken by and for the BCIT Alumni Association. Some were used in BCIT newsletters such as BCIT Update and BCIT Alumni newsletters.

BCIT Student Association photographs

Series consists of photographs produced by the BCIT Student Association. Most were taken in support of the Link student newspaper, by photographers employed by the BCIT Student Association.

Pioneers Club Correspondence and news clippings 1964-2013

Series contains correspondence between Club members. Including misc correspondence concerning donations to library and activities of club, mission statement. Includes the Pioneers Club mailing list which has a record of which members are deceased as well as some news clippings and obituaries honouring former members.

BCIT Link Newspaper

In 1965 the BCIT Student Association produced the first year student newspaper the Link. The paper provided a venue for students to express their concerns and highlights of the academic year. The issues contain photographs of graduates, student activities and achievements are documented including sporting events and charitable activities.

The link continues to be published in print and electronically.Archival holdings of the Link from 1965 - to present date include at-risk early issues. In 2012-2013 Digitization of the Link 1965-2004 was made possible through the generous support of the BCIT Library, the BCIT Student Association, and through funding of a BC History Digitization grant from the Irving K. Barber Learning Center. Issues from 2005 to-present are from original digital issues.

BCIT Yearbooks

Series contains yearbooks produced by the BCIT Student Association. The first yearbook, the Nucleus, documents highlights of the academic year. The yearbooks contain photographs of graduates, student activities and achievements. The publication ceased in 1980.
All of the Nucleus yearbooks were digitized in March 2012.

BCIT staff rosters

Series contains staff rosters with employee photographs, head shots, and work contact information. Rosters are organized by department.

BCIT Alumni Newsletters

The series consists of issues of alumni newsletters published between 1971 and 2011. The newsletter has gone through several name changes over the years: The Tie 1971- 1978 The Aggregate 1979-1981 Alumni News 1982-1993 Alumni Ambassador-1992-2011. Winter 2011, the ‘Green’ issue was the last.
Between 2012 and 2017 Alumni news updates were published via the BCIT Update blog (F01-s12-ss06-f15). These updates can now be found in the BCIT News publication.

Other publications featuring news of alumni, such as "Business in Vancouver, Distinguished Alumni Awards" feature (2005) have also been included in this series.

Series consists of BCIT Marketing and Communications department records including course and program brochures, full-time and part time calendars, the Update newsletter, departmental newsletters, one-time brochures and publications and institute annual reports.
