Mr. Gillespie talks about BCIT working with business and industry to improve business performance with a specific mention of specialized training centres: call centre, digital imaging, industrial control simulator, Venture program and Living Lab. Mr. Calder talks about the BCIT Call Centre-BCTEL partnership. After the presentation Jennifer Lee, Reservations Manager at Canadian Holidays, selects the winner of a draw for a trip to Las Vegas. Video ends with a small thank you presentation for Lynn Wagner for organizing the event.

Part of a telecourse series, this film provides background to help the entrepreneur understand how a business plan is used to determine the viability of a proposition, to organize planning, and to obtain financing. Randy Vandermark, Department head, BCIT Marketing Management, introduces the film: Do you need a business plan? The middle section, Starting a Business: Do you need a business plan?, is hosted by Bob Grasley. Using still cartoons and interviews with business people the topic is explored.
