  • Day in the Life of a Payroll Clerk: Helps occupational nursing students become aware of hazards in an office workplace. Examines the duties of a payroll clerk, Miriam Quarin, in order to illustrate white collar physical hazards and mental stress.
  • Machine Doctor: Illustrates hidden hazards in industrial workplaces. Helps occupational nursing students identify the dangers by following the daily activities of a millwright at Scott Paper.

The need for planning; Starting a business

Part of a telecourse series, this film provides background to help the entrepreneur understand how a business plan is used to determine the viability of a proposition, to organize planning, and to obtain financing. Randy Vandermark, Department head, BCIT Marketing Management, introduces the film: Do you need a business plan? The middle section, Starting a Business: Do you need a business plan?, is hosted by Bob Grasley. Using still cartoons and interviews with business people the topic is explored. Interviewees include: Jeremy Brown, The Brownstone Press, Edward Starr, The Starr Group, Don Campbell, Vice-President Chateau-Gai Wines, Kishore Doshi, Video Captions, Deepak Sahasrabudhe, film sound studio, Michael Volker, Volker-Craig, and Derek Buntain, Private Risk Investor. Video concludes concludes with a panel discussion with Morie Shacker, Marketing Management BCIT Faculty and Brian Hann of The Royal Bank.
