The BCIT Archives & Special Collections acquires, preserves, and makes available the materials that uphold the legal and historical memory of BCIT and the BCIT community. To achieve this goal the BCIT Archives acquires records in three major categories:
- The official records of BCIT; administrative offices, departments, Board of Governors.
- Records that document the wider BCIT community; the BCIT Student Association, Faculty Association, as well as papers of prominent BCIT students, staff, alumni and faculty.
- Historical research collections that relate to a variety of relevant subjects, including aviation, sustainability, and trades education in British Columbia.
The BCIT Archives documents the history of BCIT and the BCIT community in order to support the institutional, teaching, and learning needs of faculty, staff and students at all levels.
