History
The Pioneers Club was formed in February, 1994. Membership was composed of faculty and staff who were employed at BCIT on or prior to June 15, 1966 and who contributed to the establishment of the two year diploma programs.

The club’s mission statement lists the following goals:
- To support the BCIT community and to provide a link with the formative years of the institute.
- To collect or document material relevant to the history of BCIT
- To archive the achievement and contributions of the BCIT Pioneers
Initially conceived of as a social club whose purpose was to organize reunion events the club quickly adopted a broader mandate. The club has participated in the open house activities and functions, organised reunions, established an endowment fund and secured the permanent protection of the Guichon Creek area as a natural resource.
