About the building: Ground breaking ceremony was held on April 8, 1994, during open house. Officials at start of construction of the Student Association Campus Centre were Walter Watkins, Stephen Miller, Lyle Boivin, Glen Clark, John Watson, Wynne Powell and Clayton McKinley.
The BCIT Student Association Campus Centre Building was Officially Opened on November 1, 1995. Master of Ceremonies was Mark Angelo, who introduced special guests; Joan Sawicki, MLA Burnaby/Willingdon, Stephen Miller, executive director of the BCIT Student Union, Dr. Arun Garg, Chair of Board of Governors, Dr. Brian Gillespie, President of BCIT, Joan Harrison, Chair President's Advancement Council, Dr. Don Rix, and Mike Bretner, President BCIT Student Association. There was an unveiling of the Donor Wall, and cake cutting.
